Ten years; this is not merely a number, a period of time, or even a memory.

Ten Years

Ten years represents a complete segment of life experience. Ten years ago, when I discussed establishing "Path of Democracy" with three scholars, who could have imagined how long this path would last, let alone where it would lead? At the very least, I know that plenty of pro-democracy figures whispered that "Path of Democracy" could at most hold out for two or three years.

By 2019, some even believed that the third way had reached a dead end. Some say that paths are forged by people. Yes! The path is just a direction; people are the most important. Where there are people, there is a path; without people, even with a path, it only leads to empty sighs. "Path of Democracy " was able to endure the 2019 unrest, overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, and continue to forge ahead amid economic downturns because we are a group with strong convictions, unafraid of smears and criticisms, dedicated to quietly tilling the soil.Today, ten years later, many people say that perhaps it's time to tally the gains and losses.

That's right! Over these ten years, our core members have lost quite a few capable individuals who couldn't withstand the storms, but in exchange, we've gained more energetic and idealistic young people. Our flagship research report, the "One Country, Two Systems Index," has been published for fifteen issues and has even become a regular reading material at the highest levels of government.

Our Academy has reached its eighth intake of students, with an enthusiastic response that can be said to be the best ever. Our research reports have developed to become more diversified and broader in scope, gaining greater acceptance and respect from various sectors both inside and outside Hong Kong."A sword is sharpened over ten years, its frosty edge yet untried"; looking to the future, whether in research and investigation or in training political talent, we firmly believe that these ten years are just the beginning; we aim to fly higher and farther. We will not forget our motto: "Bite firmly into the green mountain without letting go, roots firmly planted in the broken rocks. Endure a thousand grindings and ten thousand strikes yet remain strong, no matter the winds from east, west, south, or north."
