As a think tank rooted in Hong Kong, Path of Democracy remains committed to contributing to the country’s development through pragmatic and rational policy advocacy. At this juncture, “One Country, Two Systems” has entered a new stage, with Hong Kong’s integration into the national development framework becoming increasingly clear. Its governance structure now faces a critical opportunity for deep transformation. We firmly believe that, with the support of the Central Government, Hong Kong can leverage its institutional strengths and governance know-how to once again rise amid global competition and reaffirm its irreplaceable status.

The Central Government has repeatedly emphasized that “maintaining Hong Kong’s long-term prosperity and stability” is the core objective of implementing “One Country, Two Systems.” On this basis, Path of Democracy is equally convinced that although Hong Kong is small in size, it bears key responsibilities in national development and plays a unique role in the mutual complementarity of the two systems. This is not only a historical responsibility but also an opportunity for Hong Kong to reassert its value.
